With emotional vocals and groovy, powerful music, this band does not follow music clichés, preferring instead to innovate by creating music which is timeless and without boundaries. Zip Coed take their inspiration from the larger than life voices of acts like Portishead, EBTG, and Massive Attack, as well as having a dash of Nina Simone's purity, powered by the burning rage of Janis Joplin. The musical progression of their tracks is never obvious, with arrangements that are often surprising and filled with a sense of the epic.
