Ibán García del Blanco is the coordinator of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D) in the Legal Affairs Committee where, among other responsibilities, he has been the rapporteur for the legislative initiative report on An ethical framework for artificial intelligence, robotics and related technologies, and co-rapporteur on the initiative file on policy implications of the development of virtual worlds. Furthermore, García del Blanco has been the coordinator of the S&D in the special committee on artificial intelligence in a Digital Age —whose mandate ended in March 2022—. As a member of the Culture and Education Committee, he is rapporteur for the initiative report on Cultural diversity and conditions for authors in the European music streaming market. In addition, García del Blanco contributes to the work carried out within the framework of the European Parliament Delegations in the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly (EUROLAT) and for relations with the Andean countries.
