Katayoon Valamanesh is a Groningen based audio- visual artist whose art practice professionally started in 2018 after graduation from an art academy in Tehran(IR). Katayoon's artistic journey took a turn by immigrating to the Netherlands(2020) to pursue a postgraduate program. Ever since her art practice has been a depiction of the artist's experiences of seeking ad denial, along with the fears and uncertainty associated with immigration. Through the incorporation of audio-visual elements, the artist endeavors to convey these complex concepts, providing the audience with a more immersive and engaging experience. She often uses video/installation as the medium.
