We are delighted to see the wide variety of genres and exceptional Irish talent reflected in the line-up at Eurosonic 2027. It is also exciting for us that ESNS selected so many artists from our showcase festival Ireland Music Week. This domestic to international showcase pipeline has been nurtured for many years.

RTÉ 2FM stage on Eurosonic Wednesday

For this festive occasion ESNS teams up with Ireland's national broadcaster RTÉ to present the best emerging acts from the Irish scene in Grand Theatre on Wednesday evening. RTÉ 2FM Radio broadcasters Dan Hegarty and Beta DaSilva, known from The Alternative and the 2FM New Music Show, host the evening on the first day of Eurosonic with Aaron Rowe, F3miii, mischa and the bear and THEATRE on stage. Other Irish acts can be seen performing at various venues across the city throughout the festival.

Adam Fogarty, Director of Music, RTÉ 2FM:

2FM has a long-standing commitment to discovering, supporting and platforming Irish acts, both home and internationally. ESNS provides an exceptional opportunity to take that commitment into Europe, connecting Irish artists with new audiences and the wider music industry. We’re hugely excited to be part of Ireland’s showcase at ESNS and to give these artists a platform on one of Europe’s most important stages for emerging music.

Celebrating the Irish music scene

In close cooperation with Ireland’s leading music organisation First Music Contact and Irish radio station RTÉ 2FM as media partner, ESNS curates a programme that celebrates Irish music success and acknowledges Ireland’s investment in their artists and forward-thinking infrastructure as best practice.

Robert Meijerink, Head of bookings EU, ESNS:

Irish music is coming home again at Eurosonic in Groningen. Since a long time Ireland has one of the strongest and most exciting music scenes of Europe. But now, more than ever before, Irish music blooms. We’re very excited and honored to host the present and future of Irish music during the focus on Ireland at ESNS.
