15.10.26

ESNS (Eurosonic Noorderslag) announces eleven more acts for Noorderslag 2027. On Saturday, 16 January, emerging talent and established artists will take the stage at De Oosterpoort in Groningen. The second wave of acts includes Isabèl Usher, jet van der steen, Hiigo, De Baron and Tramhaus. Traditionally, Noorderslag marks the final day for the ESNS festival, putting the spotlight on the next generation of Dutch artists.

Isabèl Usher

Spotify RADAR and NPO 3FM Talent

Isabèl Usher creates honest, vulnerable pop, distinguished by an authentic vocal sound. She has been selected for Noorderslag as part of Spotify RADAR, alongside fellow artist Langa. Through RADAR, Spotify puts upcoming artists from around the world in the spotlight. jet van der steen was named 3FM Talent during the live broadcast of NPO 3FM at last year’s Noorderslag. Known for her distinctive pop sound, which blends electronic elements, she will return to the Noorderslag line-up for the 2027 edition.

MAYTE blends Frisian-language lyrics with alt-pop, drawing on raw emotions and personal experiences. Exploring themes of heartbreak and coming of age, she brings her stories to life through an explosive, theatrical stage presence. Hiigo, one of the leading names in modern Dutch pop, gained national recognition with their song ‘Tankstation’ and will release their second album on October 30th. De Baron delivers their distinctive brand of Guerilla-Brass, combining desert rock, Balkan beats and Dutch folk.

The Klittens combine their love of pop music and dark atmospheres with a punk mentality, creating a sound that is entirely their own. The Bird Experience blends psychedelic blues rock with soul. Their wide-ranging debut album showcases a band that refuses to be confined to a single genre. KRAM is an Irish-Dutch band whose alternative post-punk sound is charged with urgency and intensity.

Fans of heavier music will also find plenty to enjoy at Noorderslag. The sound of electropunk band De Plaag is poetic yet raw, bold when it needs to be and vulnerable when it matters. Rotterdam-based post-punk sensation Tramhaus brings an energetic blend of post-hardcore, shoegaze and punk rock to the stage. For those looking for something even heavier, State Power delivers a hefty dose of pure love in its most aggressive form. Blending hardcore punk with thrash metal, the band guarantees an intense live show.

Earlier this year Elmer, Milolaathetlukken, Mula, Hondenfokker, Langa, Otto Club, MAHA, RADIO Z, Eskalatie, FEMI and Ontaard were announced for Noorderslag 2027.

Noorderslag puts Dutch Music in the Spotlight

Traditionally, the Saturday of ESNS is dedicated entirely to Noorderslag. At De Oosterpoort, the festival’s closing day has been a key moment for Dutch pop music for decades, giving upcoming acts the opportunity to introduce themselves to a wider audience and hosting the award ceremony of the Popprijs.
