Rock Punk
While many punks in the 1970s and 1980s voiced their discontent with their parent’s generation with shocking symbols relating to World War 2, our contemporary punk scene prefers to reference the right side of history. FRONTSECTOR was the name of a secret magazine in which members of the Dutch resistance put their concerns with the German occupation to paper, using poetry and song as their weapons. That kind of resistance against injustice and plea for a better world are at the base of the combination of old skool hardcore- and garage punk that FRONTSECTOR, one of Groningen’s newest and most exiting punk bands. The four give us punk as it was once meant to be played: against the status quo, against the system and without more chords than necessary.
