After years of playing in bands, multi-instrumentalist Simon Joan set out in search of new creative freedom. Retreating to his apartment, he began writing music that reflects his most personal stories. In this introspective setting, he developed songs inspired by The Beatles, Alex Turner and The Velvet Underground, blended with modern influences such as Tame Impala and Unknown Mortal Orchestra. His bedroom-pop sound feels both energetic and dreamlike, combining vintage bass and synths, boom bap drums, shimmering guitars and layered vocal harmonies. The songs explore themes of ambition, love and escapism, balancing growing up with not taking life too seriously. Before launching his solo project, Simon Joan performed on major stages including Pinkpop and the Ziggo Dome, and toured internationally with Orange Skyline and Mazey Haze. Now on his own path, he creates music that is personal, playful and sincere.
