Roisin O'Connor is Music Editor at The Independent where she oversees the section's news coverage, interviews, features, reviews and comment. She has interviewed global stars including Metallica, Shania Twain, 50 Cent, The Beach Boys, Liam Gallagher, Dolly Parton and the Wu-Tang Clan.

In 2017, she created and launched Music Box, a series of stripped-back sessions for both emerging and established talent – previous guests have included Lewis Capaldi, Emeli Sande, Ghetts, Marika Hackman, Bastille, Olivia Dean, Nell Mescal and recent Mercury Prize winners English Teacher. She also writes a weekly newsletter, Now Hear This, and makes regular appearances on TV, radio and live panels to discuss current music topics.

As of 2025, she also hosts Roisin O'Connor's Good Vibrations podcast, a series of lively, irreverent and insightful conversations with music figures including JADE, Zara Larsson, Tim Minchin, Olafur Arnalds, Giggs, Hans Zimmer, Ludovico Einaudi and Jehnny Beth.
